Just beyond Chesterfield you can discover the historic Bolsover Castle or Hardwick Hall, both just a short drive away.

Head in the other direction and you venture deep into the Peak District and discover the world famous scenery of the Dark and White Peaks. The picturesque Hope Valley and villages of Castleton, Hope and Hathersage are just a 25 minute drive away.

The historic Haddon Hall and the various attractions of the Chatsworth House estate are also close by. If you prefer more recent history then you can relive bygone days at the National Tramway Museum in Crich or explore industrial heritage at the Mining Museum in Matlock Bath.

Cara Cottage Visitor’s Comments

Our second Christmas at Cara Cottage, as lovely this time as the first. a special place, so very comfortable and a lovely area to wander around. Such a high standard at this cottage.

Thank you again for your lovely cottage. The high standard of Cara Cottage makes it quite special, shame about the weather but the leaves and Fireworks are great!

Thank you once again for your welcome into this comfortable and warm holiday home! It’s the second time we have been here and as before we have enjoyed it very much. Despite the rain we have enjoyed the Autumn colours of the trees and sampled local food.

Our 2nd visit to Cara Cottage and everything reassuringly the same – warm, welcoming, with an attention to detail that makes such a difference. Many thanks.

Suzanne and James ,thank you so much for a warm welcome. Cara cottage is lovely, very warm and cosy and just what we needed. The view from the patio window is wonderful. we will return.
